I just finished reading a riveting tale of an old lost Valentine and the shenanigans that ensue when it turns up. The intrepid, Fiona Finch, and her brother Steele – along with a helping “wing” from Quellie the duck, work to bring two long ago sweethearts back together.  This story is a Steampunk Novelette. Steampunk is a new word for me and the first time I have encountered Steampunk literature.  I want to know more about this form of writing

News Update: Hullaba Lulu – a Diesel-punk Adventure is ready to launch!

Hullaba Lulu, a Dieselpunk Adventure is finally at the dieselpunk train station.  Teagan has given us another brilliant escapade. We are embarking on a wild and woolly 1920s fantasy story. I am looking forward to meeting Lulu and tagging alone on her adventure.

Teagan is a wonderful guide through Steampunk and Dieselpunk – and I heard there are more punks still out there to be discovered. Dan – I’m with you. I had never heard of this form of literature – exciting, adventures, and brilliant technology. Teagan has a marvelous way of welcoming us all. Heading over to board the Delta Pearl!!! I am delighted that you listened in Roberta! I had never heard about Steampunk or Dieselpunk before I met up with Teagan who is a brilliant guide through this form of literature. I truly enjoyed this podcast conversation. I confess I’m a non-fiction reader, but now I realize that I have been missing out so I’m back to the wonderful world of fiction. I always wondered about this genre, ever since my granddaughter was interested in it. Now I know thanks to your wonderful conversation with Teagan! Sounds like a delightful place for an introduction…so thanks again for sharing new adventures in reading. There’s always something new around the corner, and listening to writers’ share their experience is encouraging for sure. It seems to be a thing lately for writers to share how they discard, then pick up, works and find new life in them. This is certainly true for my own work. I need to share this podcast with family!

I have found that readers place a great deal of trust in writers to lead them through the twists, turns and disruptions that come within the storyline until they come to a final redemption. This does not mean there is always a happy ending. Even when the outcome is not what is expected, readers recognize and appreciate the writer’s message. Connecting within the writing community has been an extraordinary experience for me. Many thanks come along with the hugs that I’m sending your way.

That was so fun, Rebecca and Teagan. I’ve been a follower of Teagan’s for years, and it was delightful to hear her voice. Lol. I’m also a huge fan of her books as well as her amazing imagination. I can see now how the three “things” contribute to the stories and create opportunities for her imagination to flourish. Congrats to you both on the entertaining podcast! You make it look easy. ❤

I am delighted that you listened in, Diana. One of the reasons that I started blogging and more recently podcasting, is to explore and discover how communication will evolve giving emerging technologies, including AI. While there are many studies in this area of research, I wanted to experience, first hand, the transition. The story of humanity is one of belonging and community. How do we foster genuine conversations in a virtual setting? Hearing a person’s voice, listening to a story – these are the things that come down to us from ancient times. We still enjoy sitting around a campfire listening to stories. By I digress… Looking forward to our ongoing conversation.

I am so glad that you listened in, Resa. And the serendipity of your post on Fiona Finch & The Pink Valentine the day before the podcast went into the universe was unbelievable. We may be separated by miles, but we were reading the same book and then blogging about it. Teagan’s ability to write a storyline within a community structure is a testament to the creative spirit. She entices us with an adventure; in so doing she strengthens our courage and resilience. May our wings continue to grow!! Hugs and more hugs.

Wild, Wild West is iconic – loved it!! Every time I watch it, I find more gadgets to fascinate me. I had no idea about steampunk until I met Teagan. I read a blogger book review on “Speak Flapper” and another one on “Fiona Finch and The Pink Valentine: A Steampunk Novelette.” (Those blogger book reviews are amazing for introducing me brilliant authors – one of them being you, Liz) I am now reading “Hullaba Lulu, A Diesel Punk Adventure.” Teagan has an amazing way of taking readers into a world of fantasy that seems so familiar (like the Jazz age) but so very much different. Lulu loves to dance, so I plan to danced along with her.

I had read about a NH steampunk festival that is held once a year on Mount Washington. The group rides the cog railway to the top of the mountain to pay hommage to the railway’s roots in the Industrial Revolution. There is a chaper devoted to the steampunk festival and the cog railway in Dan Szczesny’s book The White Mountain: Rediscovering Mount Washington’s hidden culture.

I’m planning to check out Hullaba Lulu once I’ve finished with some reading commitments.
