Season 2 Episode 30: The Trio on Living in the Time of Covid19

Welcome to Tea, Toast and Trivia.

Thank you for listening in.

I am joined by my mother, Frances, and my sister, Sarah to share our thoughts on living in the time of Covid19.  How do we embrace a new reality within this unexpected worldwide disruption?  Within a few short weeks, the terms “social distancing” and “self-isolation” have become household phrases. Now we must reinvent how we connect, show kindness and compassion to others and ourselves.

Rebecca, Frances & Sarah

So put the kettle on and add to the conversation.  We would love to hear your thoughts on TeaToastTrivia.com

I am your host Rebecca Budd and I’m looking forward to sharing this moment with you.

“It may be that when we no longer know what to do, we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go, we have begun our real journey. The mind that is not baffled is not employed. The impeded stream is the one that sings.”

Wendell Berry

The trio is back! I always enjoy your family broadcasts. So warm and comforting, reminding us to be compassionate and kind in the most difficult circumstances. We’re in brave new world territory. And while we should stay informed and sift and sort through all the conflicting scientific data–and contemplate our responses in worst case scenarios–we need to balance our mental vigor with our emotional needs. Thank you always for providing this essential nourishment. Hugs to all!!!

How very very well said, Mary Jo! There is a balance that we much maintain. I just read a short article that stated that a survey found that “nearly half of Canadian can’t tell coronavirus fact from conspiracy theory.” We must remain vigilant. We are just at the beginning of this narrative with more to come. As you said so eloquently: “We’re in brave new world territory.” I am thankful for friendships, creative endeavours, connecting in positive ways. You give courage and beauty to my days, Mary Jo! Hugs and more hugs come with my thanks!!!
