Episode 32: Brian on the Greater Journey

Welcome to Tea, Toast and Trivia.

Thank you for listening in.

Brian, my brother, came back to continue the discussion on embracing our creativity.  Today, we are looking at the greater journey by celebrating the past and giving relevance to where we are here, right now.  Brian talks about our father’s love of music and how it continues to influence our lives, long after his passing.

So put the kettle on and join in the conversation.  Stop by TeaToastTrivia.com and share your insights. We would love to hear from you. I am your host Rebecca Budd and I’m looking forward to sharing this moment with you.

Brian will be so happy to hear that you enjoyed the conversation. Brian is the “philosopher” of our family and had the unique bond of music with my Father. He reminds me that we are all have a story to tell, a journey to share. Thank you for your support and encouragement. I really appreciated your thoughtfulness.

I have listened to this podcast several times and will listen again, no doubt. It is such a delightful, sensible, encouraging piece. I love it. Yes, please come back soon, this is so encouraging, and of course, applies to endeavors other than music. I like the emphasis in this piece about sharing our experience with those of family and others dear to us. We need to communicate happiness and encouragement to those around us that we care about and love. Much more could be said, but will wait for your next episode. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us.

Like Frances, I have listened to this a few times today – you and Brian have captured a wonderful sense of perspective and a true focus on what is important in life. I love what he says about just doing your own thing – I have in recent days been questioning myself (“what’s the point of doing x or y when so many others are doing the same…”) – what a timely inspiration to hear his advice about doing whatever is right for us, and whatever makes us happy. Thank you Brian, and thank you Becky for these wonderful podcasts. Xxx

PS – is that Brian’s guitar playing at the end of the clip? It is fabulous – more please!!

Yes it’s Brian on the guitar. He has promised to send more audio files. I am on a steep learning curve when it comes to transferring files and mics, and input/output – YIKES. Brian is my youngest brother by eleven years, but I have always considered that he is the sage of our family. He has a marvelous sense of humour that goes along with his keen awareness of human frailty and endeavour. Brian will delighted with your comments as I am. Thank you for your support, encouragement and friendship. We are on a grand journey of discovery. Someone once said, “Do something every day that scares you.” I am going to recite Shakespeare and I’m already in a sweat!!!

He will be absolutely delighted to hear that! Brian and my Father has a strong connection through music. We all played piano, thanks to Frances, but it was Brian who continued in Dad’s footsteps with guitar and trombone.

Brian is the philosopher of our family! He may be the youngest of our family, but we all acknowledge that he has a deep wisdom that speaks to our internal conversations. He is also the family comedian which enlivens all our conversations. He will be delighted to know that you enjoyed his thoughts and insights.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughtful understanding of passages. We only know what we can know in our finite existence. Humanity throughout the ages has recognized the possibility of the infinite, even when bound by a forward moving timeline. It is a reminder to cherish time, family, friendships. I enjoy our conversations.
