What a delightful episode! Lately I’ve been pondering the importance of manners, acts of kindness, etc. and have concluded they’re all simply acts of love. They demonstrate intent, engagement, and belonging. Thank you for confirming all this through your lovely conversation with your mother and sister.

I agree wholeheartedly! The idea of belonging rests on simple acts, given with sincerity and compassion. This is what builds a community. I remember sending a written thank you card the day we received a birthday present. When a neighbor was sick, everyone took turns making dinner for the family. I believe this tradition continues when people seek a greater journey. Your support and encouragement is a testament and confirmation of this tradition. Thank you – you made my day pure sunshine.

Thank you, Rebecca and Sarah, for the privilege of joining in this conversation. It is important that we do make a positive and important contribution to life as it is. This is not only to our close friends, but especially to those who do not have the privilege of an active social life. Often, they only want to feel included, needing only our open ears and time. Sometimes, it is the things of little significance that mean a lot to our youth as well as those of age. I especially value the things that were discussed about our youth and their importance in dance education and, of course, this includes all avenues of training and time with our valuable youth.

I am so glad that you have agreed to embark on the podcasting journey with me. I appreciate your insights and hearing about your experiences. We need to keep our stories alive for they give courage and hope to those who come after us. I am grateful for all who took the time to record their time. As you said, we know our past because someone chose to write about it. Looking forward to our next podcast episode.

I am having so much fun, Resa. Still learning about how to work a mic, add background music, figuring out how to soundproof a room. Living within a city, we get used to the various noises, so I have learned to record around 11p.m when everything quiets down. Every once in a while, I have to stop recording when an ambulance or police siren comes through. We need to celebrate our stories. And I am celebrating your – pure magic. Hugs!

How wonderfully said, Liz!!! I agree wholeheartedly. We live in a world that defines being important in various ways? Wealth, position, academia to the details of what we wear, what car we drive, who we know. YIKES! It becomes a surrealistic collection of benchmarks and scorecards that have no relationship to a meaningful reality. Your “the feeling of importance we can bestow on others…” says it best.
